Good Afternoon,
I wish to bring to your attention the petition that CAMS has put forward regarding the delivery of a dedicated driver education program in secondary schools for students. I would ask that the below link is distributed to your club’s membership, to provide them with the opportunity to show their support for such a program:- https://www.cams.com.au/media/news/latest-news/petition-launched The more signatures on the petition, the stronger case there is for such a program to be launched in secondary schools. At this stage, the program is only set to be rolled out in New South Wales, if it is successful, it would then be proposed to be expanded to other jurisdictions. If there are any questions arising from the above information, please feel free to contact me. Kind regards, Shawn CAMS has today confirmed details surrounding the ineligibility of the Genuine Yamaha Racing (GYTR®) Turbo kit which is currently available for the Yamaha YZX, and offered as a dealer fitted optional extra.
The link to the CAMS published article can be found HERE. Could I ask that the article be forwarded to competitors, clubs and the wider off road community. CAMS recently reviewed changes made to the Off Road Single Event (ORSE) licence application process that was introduced for 2018 and can today confirm these changes will be rolled back.
After taking on board the feedback received from clubs and event organisers, CAMS can confirm those changes have now been rescinded and it will again be possible to apply for ORSE licences at an event, and without the need to complete pre-licence training. The decision to revert back to the model used previously was based largely around the impracticality of the new process as well as consultation with various stakeholders, whose valued input is taken seriously by CAMS. ORSE licence forms will again be made available on request to clubs and organisers wishing to permit the use of single event licences at their events. If you have any queries about these changes, please contact CAMS on 1300 883 959 or via email: offroad@cams.com.au. Marion Baxter received the inaugural Judith Ray Award for Administrators for her contribution to MotorSport. Marion is a very worthy recipient of this award and we are very proud of her achievement. Maurie and Robyn received the CAMS Service Award for their contribution to Off Road Racing. This award topped off a very successful month for the Fullers after Maurie received the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) on Australia Day which was a very deserving Award for his ongoing volunteer work in the Kempsey District. The dedication and commitment of these three award recipients is very much appreciated throughout the NSWORC. HVORRA would like to congratulate Maurie Fuller on receiving the OAM (Order of Australia Medal) for work in the Kempsey Macleay community area and Services to Motor Sports.
Please note that as of the 1/1/2018 a new Clubman Licence will be introduced for Off Road. This will be a cheaper licence that will entitle you to compete up to and including State Level Events. If you wish to compete at National Level you will still require a National Off Road Licence and at this stage if you wish to compete at Condo you will still require a National Rally licence. If your licence is due for renewal in December or January and you wish to purchase one of the Clubman Licences ensure that you advise CAMS Licensing that that is what you require as forms may not be changed until next year.
The new licence and cost is below: COJ $35 Age 14-15 CONJ $35 Age 12-15 CO $140 Age 16+ CON $140 Age 16+ PLEASE NOTE and competitor wishing to use a Single Event Licence for events in 2018 will need to purchase it on line from CAMS and it will be YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to ensure you do this in time to receive it from CAMS before the event. Event Secretaries will not have ANY Single Event Licences to sell at the event. Best Regards Elaine Nikiforoff NSW SOP CHAIR/AOC Commissioner Hi All, Here is some info on a Charity Car Cruise .
